Flood Of Red Inverness 21/08/08

Ok it was a Wednesday night (20/08/08) and there, as usual, was fuck all to do in Thurso.
Nutty took Ross, Kev and myself out on a wee cruise. We actually ended up going to Castletown which was extremely shit...

On the way home the inevitable question was asked,
"What's on tomorrow?"

Ross brought up the fact that there was a Flood of Red Gig on at the Ironworks Venue in Inverness. Even though Flood were set to play our hometown of Thurso on the Friday we thought that a wee adventure down to Inver would be rapid.

This was ace for me because it would be like a sneak preview into seeing what everyone has been mysteriously taking bonors over in the past few weeks....

I had never seen them before that night and have to admit that they were "fucking amazing." (Yes that is an official music term, I learned it from Logan Foord)
They played a full on energetic set but for some reason instead of being on last (since they were headlining) they ended up playing second. Nevertheless the 5 Thurso hooligans that travelled down to see them didn't leave dissapointed.

Throughout the set drunken shouts of "Skins" "Thurso" and "Whey" were shouted out as Flood repeatedly mentioned they were touring around Scotland.Guilty Parties were of course myself and Ross.
I managed to get some decent photos from that night some of which can be viewed in the pics section. I also shot various videos that included the whole of "An Hour Away" and some "Drum Interlude" as I liked to call it.

The most exciting thing about the night was probably the fact that they played a brand new song for the first time. Not first time in Scotland, or first time since a certain event....

THE FIRST TIME EVER!

That made us feel rather special indeed.

After the gig we were waiting around to possibly meet some of the band as Jordan had instructed the crowd to wait and "Get the crack" with them after the gig. We were waiting for a good fifteen minutes and Ross and others had began to complain. "Na they've fucked off I bet you, they'll be in Hoots," Almost straight after Ross said that Jordan and Calum came walking out the door and I proceeded to shit myself, point and then say "Here beiys they're there!!!"
We stood and got the crack for almost half an hour and got a few photos with them. We then went to Hoots where the support act Flood would use in Thurso was playing. He was an unbelieveable guitarist and his lyrics hit hard. I just wish I caught his name.

After all this shenanigins we proceeded to Tescos for a drunken shopping spree and a piss in the carpark and fucked off home....

I got home at around 2.30 and had to get up for work at 6.30 but to be honest.... I couldn't give a fuck because that was one of the best nights I have ever had!!!!
